Femme Fatale: Stefanie Maegan
Kicking off my new series here on the blog... FEMME FATALE: Killer Women with Killer Instincts.Women that are inspiring and making their dreams a reality. First up we have Stefanie Maegan!
A very good friend of mine for about 5 years now, Stefanie and I studied Visual Communications at FIDM in DTLA. I asked to take a picture of her outfit for my trend forecasting class, we exchanged social media and the rest is history. She was also the plug for my first internship... Over the years we've stay connected via twitter and our occasional Panini Cafe dinner dates! Two plates of EXTRA moist chicken and avocado salad, extra dressing please!!!
Peer turned friend, Stefanie has inspired me over the years... her commute from Valencia to DTLA alone was commendable. It's not easy being in our industry but Stefanie continues to push forward and make shit happen for herself. When we first met She was working at BCBG and interning, fast forward a couple years and she was working in the corporate offices as the BCBG Vintage Library Coordinator. Now working in fashion public relations at Marked PR and hosting her very own Podcast Broke Girl Therapy.
Broke Girl Therapy is Stefanie's baby, a serial tinder dater decided to turn her experiences as well as her friends experiences into a hell of a podcast show! BGT touches on topics that some women or men are afraid to talk about... I love that she is tapping into dating and giving real life experiences and having fun with it. Her first season was a hit averaging almost 200 plays an episode on Soundlcoud. With Season 2 coming right around the corner I had to chat with Stef and get some insight from her. She came up with the dope idea of doing an episode out of it! Click the player below to hear how the interview went and learn about Stefanie, her ideals about being a young boss, making it through the struggle, killing shit and making shit happen for herself.
